On Lex et Juris...

How crazy can justice be arresting Polanski 30 years later? I feel utterly shocked and wonder how after the evidence brought up by Wanted and Desired last year can the US justice continue to believe that he should go to jail for another 50 years. Someone may say he is no exception to the rule... But when there is evidence showing that he was treated unfairly, then justice should be finally served for its own shake!
Agnes Poirier notes in her Guardian article: "Many commenters have simply used the term 'rape' in relation to Roman Polanski's 1977 conviction. The offence he pleaded guilty to is often described as 'statutory rape' but more precisely as 'unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor'."
